LEARNING VILLAGES
At It Takes a Village Microschool, students learn in developmentally aligned learning villages designed to nurture growth, curiosity, and confidence at every stage. Each village reflects the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of learners while honoring identity, voice, and joyful discovery.
SEEDLINGS
Grades K–2 | Ages 5–7
Seedlings focuses on building strong literacy foundations through joyful, engaging learning experiences. Students develop early reading, writing, and language skills using research-based instruction while exploring the world through play, curiosity, and culturally affirming texts. Learning is hands-on, relationship-centered, and designed to spark a love of learning from the very beginning.
PATHFINDERS
Grades 3–5 | Ages 8–10
Pathfinders deepen literacy skills, critical thinking, and collaboration through inquiry-driven learning. Students engage in meaningful projects, strengthen their voice as readers and writers, and begin making connections between learning and the world around them. This village encourages independence, curiosity, and confidence while maintaining strong relational support.
CHANGEMAKERS
Grades 6–8 | Ages 11–13
Changemakers prepares students to lead with purpose through advanced literacy, research, and real-world learning. Students engage in deeper inquiry, community-connected projects, and leadership opportunities that strengthen critical thinking, identity, and self-advocacy. This village empowers learners to apply their knowledge meaningfully and see themselves as capable contributors and changemakers.
